Since the inception of their act in 1998, they have released nearly 8 EPs and have had over 25 Sri Lankan number one singles.
Having performed in over 600 concerts in Sri Lanka and abroad, Bn S marked the end of their concert series after over 120 performances "Neththara Live" in 2008.
This was replaced with a brand new concert series named "Shaheena" after their 2008 first single and the same titled promotional album for Lux. His artistic abilities come from his mother’s side.
From 2004 to 2007, nine Haitian children were exploited by a child sex ring involving at least 134 Sri Lankan peacekeepers, according to an internal UN report obtained by The Associated Press.
Often the children were given cookies or a few dollars in exchange for sex.
The images were examined by the leading forensic pathologist Dr Richard Shepherd.
He concluded that the injuries shown are genuine and that this footage was not faked, but he also expressed surprise that the bodies showed few signs of the kind of battlefield injuries you might expect if this was the aftermath of a battle or ambush.
What he could see was evidence – in two cases at least – of serious head injuries, which appeared to have been caused by high velocity gunshots.
This led him conclude: “The pattern of injuries overall is such that I can’t exclude the possibility of executions.” The video – which has been supplied to us by a Tamil Group, the British Tamil Forum – has also been independently authenticated by a respected digital image analyst who often works for the British courts.
Their current concert series Sara Sihina is named after their 2010 release. His maternal grandmother Somi Singhika Basnayake who hailed from Hillwood College, Kandy, was in the college choir and his mother a classically trained pianist and a piano tutor.
With the release of their fifth mainstream EP Sara Sihina - the 5th Element, Bn S became the only Sri Lankan hip hop duo to feature Indian singers, namely Hariharan (in the song Yaalpanamen) and Asha Bhosle (Dedunna Sedi). Bathiya started classical piano music from the age of seven and continued to excel in music throughout his school career.
It was there that Victim No 1, or V01, met other children in the same straits: two young girls referred to in the UN report as “V02” and “V03,” and a young boy, “V08.” In August 2007, the UN received complaints of “suspicious interactions” between Sri Lankan soldiers and the Haitian children.
